Host Family Program Feedback - Part I

Ji:
Thanks very much for you all to hold the host family program. It is very helpful for me. Even before I came here, I contacted with my host family — Tian Peifang, who is very friendly and carefully. She helped me pay for the deposit of my apartment, told me what I should bring from China and asked many friends for advice on how to bring money to the US. After I arrived here, Peifang gave me a lot of help so that I can settle down quickly. Host families of other friends also helped me a lot. For example, Yuquan took me to buy bed and other furnitures, Chris took us to open bank accounts and set up mobile service, and Meimei took us to supermarket to buy microwave ovens and other useful things for everyday use.
Host family program is wonderful and helpful for us new comers, and thank you all very much!

Jie:
Sincere thanks to my host family Mali and his husband. I appreciate so much their help at the first several days of my US life. They helped me a lot. Thanks again.

Menglai:
First of all, I want to appreciate you who organize this host-family plan. This is a very very beautiful and helpful plan. It gives me a lot of convenience. Thank you very much. I hope we can continue this plan from now on. In Short, it’s wonderful!
Secondly, although i don’t know other host families, my host family-Zack and Lily and their very cute boy and girl are very very nice. I mean very nice! They make me feel like home when I stay with them, both at their house and going out for fun. I don’t know how to appreciate them. If you have a chance, please pass on my appreciation to them. I want to make friends with them forever and I believe we are forever friends now.
So say it again, this is a very wonderful plan for new coming students. Please keep on!!

Feng:
It is exactly one month since we are here, still the image is so clear and fresh for our first day. We could still recall how happy we were when we saw Judy in the airport waiting for us. It is really hard to have our X-large luggage’s to fit into Judy’s car. She is such a nice person, helped us to squeeze stuff and kept on telling us everything was going to be fine. Luckily, we got everything inside and arrived at our apartment smoothly. Without her generous help, we are pretty sure our first day is still memorable, just on the other side of the spectrum. Really, we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation to her as well as guangming, who coordinated the event and sorted out the details for us. May the happiness be with you always!

Yangbin:
I am very glad to write some kind of feedback on the host family program.
The Host Family Program really helps me a lot!  My host is extremely nice, warm-hearted and helpful.  When I just checked out at the airport, I found my host immediately at the exit.  After that he drove me (and my super-heavy luggage) to my apartment, and took me to his house for Chinese dish. I just felt like coming back home instead of arriving in a foreign country!  Even now it is usually my host who gives me ride for shopping.  I really owe lots of thanks to my host and the Host Family Program.
For the newcomers:  You definitely should join this program.  You host will be more helpful than you could have expected.  Besides, you will learn a lot from your host about life in San Diego.  Meantime, you will have a better chance to get involved in the strong Chinese community here.

Zhengtao:
My host family is Minghua Liu’s, where I spend my first 3 nights in US. They took good care of me and offered to help all the time. And I learned a lot about America from them.
Besides, Weijie Lan picked me up at the airport. Deqiang (David) Zhang, Eva Liew and Yuan Liu also helped us a lot. From the house renting to furniture preparing, they did all they could to help us.
All the warm-hearted help they gave to me make my feels at home in this strange place. I want to say thank you for all of them. Of course many thanks to UCSD CSSA. And I will pass the love to those people who need help.
